Solid State Logic (SSL) has purchased Sydec Audio Engineering NV, developers of the Soundscape range of workstation products.
The Soundscape acquisition brings significant PC platform development experience to SSL, a maker of high-end analog and digital audio consoles. The Soundscape product line currently includes workstation hardware and software, PCI audio cards, plug-ins, iBox audio interfaces and a range of accessories.
Reflecting pro audio's shift to software-based products, over the past year SSL's product added controllers, analog and digital rack processors and plug-ins.
The companies said the relationship opens new commercial channels and allows a broader range of SSL and Soundscape products to be distributed around the world, delivering SSL's established products to a wider range of users.
