Tampa Bay Devil Rays launch major upgrade to Tropicana Field’s LED displays

Tropicana Field, home to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, installed a new integrated display system prior the start of the 2007 MLB season. The focal point of the installation is a ProStar VideoPlus display, provided by Daktronics, measuring approximately 36ft by 64ft with pixels on 23mm (.90in) spacing.

Other new components included two ProAd digital LED displays, located at the lower left and right corners of the main video display, each measuring 7ft by 50ft. When not recognizing sponsors, the displays show game information, team and player stats, full-color animation and cropped video clips. A Galaxy LED display provides box scores and statistical information throughout the game. The Venus 7000 controller and V-Link video processor control the new display system. A 250ft Daktronics ProAd fascia display was installed in 2005, followed by a custom Sportsound sound system in 2006.
