TANDBERG Television to showcase DVB-S2 products

TANDBERG Television will use NAB2005 to showcase new products and end-to-end system enhancements for the DVB-S2 satellite transmission standard. The company will show its latest bandwidth advances in MPEG-2 standard and HD compression technology, DVB-S2 demodulation, content security, and over-air receiver control and management.

The DVB-S2 platform creates a more robust signal and can provide up to 30 percent bandwidth improvement over DVB-S. DVB-S2 also supports an increased range of applications by combining the functionality of DVB-S for direct-to-home and DVB-DSNG for professional applications.

The manufacturer will also introduce an integrated DVB-S2 demodulator within its TT1260 SD and TT1280 HD professional receivers. The DVB-S2 demodulator captures QPSK, 8PSK and 16APSK signals from satellites at the receiving end for decoding into bit streams or composite video outputs.
