TANDBERG TV acquires GoldPocket Interactive

TANDBERG TV has signed an agreement to acquire GoldPocket Interactive (GPI), a provider of interactive television technology, solutions and systems. The deal is valued at $78.5 million in cash and stock and is expected to be completed in December.

The combined resources of the two companies will broaden TANDBERG TV’s product portfolio and enable it to expand its software business. This purchase, combined with the company’s recently completed acquisition of N2 Broadband, a developer of on-demand solutions, now enables the company to offer network operators a full range of digital TV solutions, including HDTV, video on demand, advertising on-demand, IPTV and interactive TV applications.

GPI develops and sells products and services that create, manage, and deliver digital and interactive media. The company specializes in interactive television systems used across digital television, the Internet, and wireless/mobile networks.
