Telecast Fiber Systems introduces new video multiplexer

Telecast Fiber Systems has introduced a new second generation DiamondBack II video multiplexer. The updated device will transmit eight broadcast-quality analog video signals, with a ninth input to accommodate audio, intercom, and data signals from the company’s Adder multiplexer line.

By incorporating up to eight video and 16 audio channels on a single fiber, the DiamondBack II is designed to offer broadcasters a cost-effective means for streamlining broadcast-quality video productions.

The DiamondBack II supports a full range of TV production functions, including broadcast announce-booth feeds, courtesy and utility video, high-end video surveillance, traffic cameras, distance learning programming, corporate video distribution, and video arraignment and telemedicine applications. It can also be used as a tool for single-mode video and audio telecommunications at distances of up to 30 kilometers.

The company also announced the new TR5900 10/100 base Ethernet module for the Viper II television production platform. Providing high-speed data transmission over one single-mode optical fiber for distances of up to 25 kilometers, the TR5900 provides broadcasters with a flexible, plug-and-play media converter for Ethernet signal transfer.
