Trio Video, a mobile TV production company based in Chicago, is using Plura Broadcast’s PBM-070X 7in portable LCD monitor during remote productions.

Trio Video mobile production units are used to produce sports and entertainment programming regionally for WGN, Comcast, FOX Sports and other clients. Its fleet of three HD trucks, plus its analog truck and B unit, has been used for coverage of the Chicago Bulls (NBA), Chicago White Sox and Cubs (MLB) and Chicago Blackhawks (NHL), among others.

Trio Video uses the PBM-070X to troubleshoot video lines. The portable monitor, which can be powered by a V-mount battery, is extremely useful because it can display analog and digital video signals as well as monitor embedded audio.

While the unit itself is very durable, Trio Video keeps the PBM-070X in the optional hood and carrying case for use in sunny environments. Trio owns one PBM-070X and has ordered an additional two monitors for field use.

The PBM-070X 7in LCD widescreen monitor uses LED backlighting technology in a slim design. It supports all HD and SD signal formats and offers RGB 10-bit digital signal processing for fast response time, smooth video and accurate color reproduction. The unit also includes several built-in features including waveform and vectorscope, closed-captioning decoding, audio metering and time code display, picture-and-picture and picture-in-picture modes, and speaker.
