Turner Studios selects IPV Curator for live sports production

IPV has partnered with Turner Studios in Atlanta to implement its Curator tapeless workflow solution. Turner Studios is the broadcast and broadband production facility for Turner Broadcasting System. Tuner is using the Curator’s proxy-based tapeless workflow to help meet its critical sports requirements.

At Turner Studios, the new workflow solution is built on top of a storage area network. It provides instant, shared access to all content for ingest, editing, encoding, transcoding, logging, playout and content management. The solution, shared with the group’s existing sports production system, works concurrently across multiple user interfaces. It consists of 23 server inputs, configurable for either SD or HD; 20 server playout channels; 19 editors; and 21 customized live-event logging stations. There are also four, QC “command centers” for feeds management, automated ingest and record verification. The four playout stations also offer customized playlist features and full integration with slow-motion controllers.
