Vizrt debuts 2-D virtual studio software

Vizrt's Viz|Ibis 2-D virtual studio software package

Vizrt has introduced Viz|Ibis, a 2-D virtual studio software package.

Viz|Ibis includes a dedicated GUI, making operation extremely easy for first-time operators. Initial installation of Viz|Ibis requires the calibration of camera lenses. No measurement of the studio or camera calibration is necessary.

Pre-produced background images serve as the virtual backdrop. The background images can be live or taped, and rendered either internally through Viz|Engine using its new Snapshot feature or rendered using external 3-D software such as Softimage, Maya and 3D Studio Max.

The background image created follows the pan/tilt/zoom and focus of the camera to simulate movement within the background. Viz|Ibis supports video, image and clip polygons as well as virtual blue screen production. A variety of wipe effects can be used to open and close the video, image or clip polygons. The wipe effects are built using Vizrt’s optional Viz|Artist's animation capabilities.

Viz|Ibis includes Vizrt's Viz|Engine, a rendering software package and Viz|IO, a studio configuration and calibration tool that enables connectivity and control between all required studio devices. Viz|Ibis can be upgraded to the full, 3-D Viz|Virtual Studio package, which includes the Viz|Engine, Viz|Artist 3-D broadcast animation design software, Viz|Content pilot content management and control software, and the Viz|IO interface.
