WFTS-TV installs SSL digital broadcast console

WFTS-TV’s Jim Lange, engineer, and Louie Cruz, mix engineer, sit at the SSL C100 console in the station’s new facility.
As part of a digital upgrade of its production facilities, ABC affiliate WFTS-TV, has installed a Solid State Logic C100 digital broadcast console to handle live news shows and studio production. The 64-channel console has streamlined audio production and cut down on errors.

The station currently operates at both analog and digital audio sources through the C100.

Louie Cruz, a mix engineer at WFTS, said with the new console, he has gone from using two utility busses for his mix minuses to nine (the board offers a total of 24). The C100 is also 5.1 Dolby Digital compatible.
