Wowza Media Systems aims to make three-screen service a reality

At the NAB Show last week in Las Vegas, Wowza Media Systems featured its new Media Server Pro Advanced edition software, which aims to make the three-screen dream a reality.

Wowza Media, which has cut its teeth over the past two years offering media server software to support the Flash Player, has about 20,000 licensees using the software for live video, video on demand and other applications.

At the NAB Show, the company was highlighting the addition of support for multiple output protocols, extending its reach to QuickTime, Microsoft’s Silverlight, set-top boxes and mobile devices, including the iPhone.

Dave Stubenvoll, Wowza CEO and co-founder, discussed the latest release and how it can enable a truly three-screen experience.

This week’s Sound Off is presented as a podcast.
