From its new home in East Rutherford, NJ., Masque Sound offers TV producers and production crews equipment sales and rental, technical support, networking and wireless system design and fabrication.
Carefully coordinating hundreds of wireless microphone frequencies at an indoor venue or having a transmitter accidentally fall in the toilet during breaks in a performance are two of the more technically challenging aspects of sound design for live broadcast production. The audio engineers at Masque Sound, a third-generation broadcast sound reinforcement company founded in 1937, should know. They’ve seen it all in the course of their television production work.

Over the years it has helped produce hundreds of high-profile entertainment and sports TV events--like the halftime show at the past nine NFL Super Bowl telecasts or the recent live season finale of CBS’ "Survivor." To accommodate its growing business, the company recently moved its headquarters to a 70,000sq ft facility in East Rutherford, NJ. From there Masque Sound offers TV producers and production crews equipment sales and rental, technical support, networking and wireless system design and fabrication.

Always looking to diversify, the company has formed a new division, called Masque Entertainment, to offer comprehensive DVD production services for live concerts and corporate clients. Award-winning director Gerard Schmidt, whose credentials include projects for the Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys, Elvis Costello and Def Leppard, is heading up the group as executive producer/managing director. Envisioned as a one-stop-shop source for producing DVDs, Masque Entertainment will guide clients through DVD production, post-production, graphic design, authoring and duplication.

Masque Sound’s new corporate headquarters and main assembly facility are located at 21 East Union Avenue, East Rutherford, NJ.
