Alticast announces shipment of 1 million DVB-MHP set-top boxes

During IBC2004, Alticast announced that 1 million DVB-MHP set-top boxes equipped with the company’s MHP middleware have been sold since May 2003.

Other Alticast developments include:

  • A demonstration of set-top boxes combining HDTV and MHP. Alticast showed the combination with an HDTV receiver from LG Electronics and Zinwell.
  • MHP in IP boxes.
  • A strategic partnership with software developer Cabot to support both MPEG-5 interactivity for the UK and MHP interactivity for iDTV markets in Europe.
  • A DVB-MHP cable receiver from Samsung based on a Conexant Wabashi platform as well as a broadband return channel.
