ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD and ABC Sports HD will offer 24 of the 25 post-season college bowl games on the networks in high definition Dec. 20 through Jan. 4.
ESPN HD will deliver 16 bowl games in HD; ESPN2 HD will cover three in HD; and ABC Sports will televise five in HD. The HD bowl coverage will conclude with the BCS national championship game from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, on ABC Sports.
ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD will distribute more than 600 HD event telecasts to fans across the country in 2006. That’s up from 468 to be delivered by the end of this year.
In addition to the 600 event telecasts, ESPN’s two HD services will produce and offer all Bristol-based news and information programs, such as shows “SportsCenter,” “NFL Countdown,” “NFL Prime Time,” “NFL Live,” “Monday Night Countdown” and “Baseball Tonight,” in HD.
Highlights on ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD for the 2005-2006 season include more than 150 men’s and women’s college basketball games, more than 100 college football games, the 56 World Cup matches from Germany and every Monday Night Football game, when it moves to ESPN next season.
