Conference USA grants rights to ESPN, CSTV
Conference USA has entered into long-term agreements with ESPN and College Sports Television Networks (CSTV). The new agreements contain six-year initial terms, beginning July 1 and conclude June 30, 2011.

The new agreement extends ESPN’s broadcast rights to include the telecast of the conference’s football championship game, beginning with the inaugural game in 2005, and grants the network broadcast rights to men’s and women’s basketball, including tournament championship games.

The agreement with CSTV includes significant national and regional exposure for football, men's and women's basketball, and all other Conference USA sports.
Additionally, the CSTV agreement includes VOD, Internet, broadband, national over-the-air and satellite radio, and wireless distribution.

Idea Sports Entertainment partners with SporTVu
Idea Sports Entertainment Group has entered into an equity partnership with Israeli-based SporTVu by which Idea Sports will supply funding and internationally market and distribute patented SporTVu technology used for coverage and production of sports.

SporTVu’s new patented system will enable live graphic presentation of a sports event over the Web and mobile devices, instant replays on TV showing the event from any possible viewpoint, and immediate display of performance statistics or maps.

ESPN International, NBA reach accord
ESPN International and the NBA have reached a television rights agreement on a multi-year renewal calling for the network to televise up to 51 live games per season, including regular season and playoff action, to Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa and the Pacific Rim.

The pact allows ESPN International to televise up to 19 WNBA match-ups.

Seminole Productions takes home six Communicator Awards
Seminole Productions has received six 2004 Communicator Awards and two honorable mentions for its production of sports at Florida State University. The awards recognize excellence in visual communications.

The production company received three Crystal Awards of Excellence — one each for the Lassiter-Ware commercial for Host Communications, the 2004 Football Stadium Open and the 2004 Bowden Show Open.

Fox to debut revamped soccer channel next month
Fox Sports World, America's Soccer Channel, will become the Fox Soccer Channel Feb. 7, the company has announced.
Eighty percent of the channel’s programming will be from world-class soccer competitions.

Fox Soccer Channel will also transition its Web site into Fox Soccer Channel on MSN, accessible in February at www.foxsoccer.com.

Lentz appointed GSN director of development
Tracey Zaradich Lentz has been named Director of Development for GSN, the network for games, according to a company announcement.

In her new position, she will develop new programming and oversee current productions, such as alternative sports programs and casino games.

AlphaDogs posts 5 sports DVDs for Nouveau Richards
AlphaDogs has announced completion of post-production work on five Nouveau Richards Productions sports-themed DVDs: Athens 2004 Olympic Games Gymnastics; 2004 U.S. Open; 2004 U.S. Women's Open; 2004 U.S. Senior Open and The Best of Stars on Ice: Volume 3.

AlphaDogs editors worked closely with Tony Richards, director and producer at Nouveau Richards Productions, to ensure all five projects were completed as quickly as possible, while maintaining the highest level of post-production quality control.

LaCroix, Corl join Sportsvision
John LaCroix and Jonathan Corl have joined sports production technology developed Sportvision as art director and co-ordinating producer, respectively.

Both will work from Sportvision’s Mountain View, CA, facility, and in their positions complement the company’s ongoing strategy to enhance production capabilities.
