Live television production specialists F&F Productions in Clearwater, FL, recently rolled out its newest mobile production unit, the GTX-14, a 53ft HD expando.

The company has used its latest mobile unit to cover some of the country’s most widely viewed events, including SEC College A Football games and several College Bowl games. The truck currently is being used for NCAA basketball coverage and will serve as the game truck for the Final Four on CBS.

Furnished wall-to-wall with state-of-the-art live production equipment, the vehicle relies on Gepco International cabling for signal distribution. For GTX-14, F&F Productions purchased a variety of Gepco products, including 61801EZ single-pair audio cables, VDM260 miniature HD coax cables, VS10230 10-channel HD coax snake, LVT61859 Triax, GA72412GFC 12-pair Gep-Flex multi-pair, VPM2000 HD coax, BNC connectors and Neutrik XLRs.

This gear is being used with 12 Ikegami HD cameras with wiring for up to 18 cameras, a Grass Valley Kalypso digital production switcher and Trinix router, EVS HD Spot Box XT with Kalypso interface, a Yamaha PM 1D digital audio board for both AES and analog audio, and an AJA HD upconverter.

According to F&F Productions vice president of engineering, Bill McKechney, a fourth mobile unit is being planned.
