Mediacom, iN DEMAND announce affiliation agreement
Mediacom Communications and iN DEMAND Networks last week announce an affiliation agreement under which Mediacom will distribute INHD and INHD2 and iN DEMAND Pay-Per-View movies and events, including live sports through partnerships with MLB, NBA, CSTV: College Sports Television, Arena Football League, PGA Tour and the United Stated Olympic Committee. ESPN wins 8-year deal to air Breeders’ Cup starting next year
The Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships will air on ESPN for the first time, along with the entire series of races leading up to the event each fall starting in 2006. The eight-year deal between ESPN and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association and Breeders’ Cup includes rights for coverage on ESPN HD, Spanish-language on ESPN Deportes, ESPN Classic, ESPN International, the recently launched broadband service ESPN360 and the ESPN Mobile cell phone service to be launched next year.


Ross Video receives honor
Ross Video won the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) Technology Company of the Year award. John Ross, founder and chairman of the board accepted the award during the annual OCRI Awards held at the Westin Hotel last month. MLB Productions signs DVD distribution agreements
Major League Baseball Productions has reached separate, multi-year DVD distribution agreements with Shout! Factory and A&E Home Video. The agreements grant distribution rights for the group’s original content, home video and DVD archive and game library, including the first-ever U.S. release of complete MLB games on DVD.

NBC Sports to cover Derby, Preakness through 2010
NBC Sports will televise the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes for another five years under an agreement that extends the network’s broadcast rights through 2010.
