Outside Broadcast delivers HD soccer finals with full surround sound

The Champions League Final capped a successful start to 2005 for Outside Broadcast with the Libra Live II covering a wide range of projects.

This year soccer fans worldwide were able to experience the excitement of Champions League soccer in HDTV with full surround sound. Outside Broadcast, a Belgium location broadcast specialist, provided the complete technical infrastructure and services for the live broadcast.

The Champions League gave Outside Broadcast no room for error. The teleproduction company deployed two of its largest OB trucks, both equipped with AMS Neve Libra Live II consoles and 28 Sony HD cameras. The broadcast marked a new standard in soccer broadcasting.

Outside Broadcast, which turned to Dolby E technology to achieve the surround broadcast, used every mic and line input possible and had a number of different stereo outputs –each with a number of different delays.
