Telecast Fiber's POV modules complete camera shuttle system

Trust Automation, a motion control and systems engineering company in San Luis Obispo, CA, is integrating two Telecast Fiber Systems point of view (POV) fiber optic video/data links in a camera shuttle system for TVN24, a TV newscast studio in Poland.

In addition to transporting video from the camera to the control room, the POVs facilitate robotic control of the camera shuttle, which is unique in its ability to move both laterally and vertically.

The POV system supports a Sony DXC-990P camera with a Canon lens and image stabilization built onto a robotic shuttle that transverses a 131ft horseshoe-shaped track.

Operators have pan and tilt control of the camera platform and the ability to move it not only laterally along the track, but vertically by 6ft as well.
