Adtec Digital has begun shipping its new mediaHUB-HD real-time MPEG-2 HD encoder targeted at ATSC, DVB and studio applications.
The company designed the encoder for contribution, distribution and studio applications in the broadcast, satellite, cable, ad-insertion, VOD and professional video markets.
The mediaHUB-HD provides HD video at bit rates as low as 7Mb/s, broadcast-quality HD video for ATSC at 10Mb/s-12Mb/s and contribution quality at bit rates up to 59Mb/s. It supports 1080i, 720P, and SD encoding profiles. SD encoding supports both 420 and 422 color profiles.
The mediaHUB-HD's Dolby Digital and MPEG audio encoders provide support for multichannel stereo encoding. Sample rate conversion and audio level control are standard features. Dolby 5.1 and Dolby E passthrough support is included.
The mediaHUB-HD also has a built-in HD decoder and a 750GB hard drive.
