The order includes 12 Grass Valley Aurora Edit HD workstations for the production of its Channel 7 news operation in São Paulo and eight Kayak HD switchers for its soap opera and reality show programs. Looking to bring news to air faster and more efficiently, TV Record will install the Aurora Edit HD workstations in its São Paulo facility to allow editors to begin working immediately after a clip has been ingested into the system.
In 2007, the network purchased several Aurora Edit systems linked to a Grass Valley K2 media server system for its Record news channel. The network now will use a similar setup in its main TV Record São Paulo (Channel 7) facility.
TV Record will also use its new Kayak HD video production switchers, along with a full complement of Grass Valley Gecko signal conversion modules, for its growing entertainment division in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which produces soap operas, reality shows, talk shows and other programs. Numerous GeckoFlex modules have also been purchased for TV Record’s Rio de Janeiro facilities.
