CBC/Radio-Canada adds data protection for edit suites

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC)/Radio-Canada will use the ATTO Technology FastStream Storage Controller to provide parity data protection to 27 editing suites at its Montreal facility.
CBC/Radio-Canada uses Avid MediaDock U320 storage and Avid video editing solutions for post production. The FastStream Storage Controllers integrate with existing storage, including the Avid MediaDock U320, to provide data protection.
The initial installation of the FastStream Storage Controllers has been completed with several other implementations scheduled during the next several months. The addition of the ATTO FastStream solution will neither change CBC/Radio-Canada’s digital workflow nor how the organization accesses its storage, said Pierre Marion, director of broadcast engineering at CBC/Radio-Canada in Montreal.
