CBS News this week denied a report in “The New York Times” that the network was speaking with Time Warner about a deal to outsource some newsgathering responsibilities to CNN.

On April 8, the newspaper cited two unidentified executive as sources saying the relationship could be structured to maintain CBS News personalities and hand off some newsgathering to CNN. Another possible approach was maintaining some CBS News correspondents in the field who would work with CNN talent and crews, according to the article.

In denying the report, a CBS spokesperson said the network is “extremely satisfied with and proud of our newsgathering operation.”
