CNN IBN expands nearline storage archive, play-to-air capabilities

CNN IBN, part of Network 18 in India, has expanded its existing SeaChange International digital video platform with the addition of a nearline storage archive and new play-to-air capabilities.
The technology is helping CNN IBN deliver news to more than 28 million households in India.
The SeaChange ML1G nearline storage server has been integrated with CNN IBN’s Avid Interplay newsroom system to provide archive storage for news production within the operation. A Front Porch DIVA content management system allows Avid files to be stored on the SeaChange server and also drives content to SeaChange’s Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaCluster (BML/MCL) play-to-air platform.
Network 18 repurposed its original SeaChange play-to-air system to serve in a backup capacity. The new workflow heightens the operator’s ability to deliver full-time programming.
