Fisher Communications in Seattle, WA, is adding Bitcentral’s Précis 4.0 news production and management systems for three of its local broadcast properties.
Bitcentral's newly released 4.0 units have been installed at Fisher Communications-owned KBAK-TV in Bakersfield, CA, and KBCI-TV in Boise, ID. KATU-TV in Portland, OR, is upgrading to Précis Version 4.0 from its existing Précis installation.
The new software release allows the three Fisher stations to streamline their fieldcentric workflow and to minimize rendering when ingesting file-based acquisition formats, such as Panasonic's P2 MXF.
The stations will use Précis to manage the tapeless HD/SD news production workflow from acquisition to air, which includes media management, editing and archiving.
