Software Generation (SGL) introduced its FlashBox scalable disk and tape storage system at NAB2008.
Based on SGL’s FlashNet content archive and storage management software, FlashBox provides scalable disk and tape storage, with a 4TB disk archive, a single LTO4 tape drive and 10 x 800GB tape slots, to provide 12TB/1000 hours of DV25 storage.
FlashBox will interface to all current SGL certified control systems, including the Avid Interplay nonlinear workflow engine and the Pro-Bel Morpheus automation and media management system.
FlashBox can assist with archive requirements for post-production facilities, regional broadcasters and individual broadcast departments, such as news and sports.
