Sony has introduced five new system packages in its UWP series of UHF synthesized wireless microphones.
The new systems are designed for stable audio reception and interference-free multichannel operation in newsgathering applications. The new lineup includes the UWP-V1, UWP-V2, UWP-V6, UWP-X7 and UWP-X8 models.
All components of the new systems — bodypack transmitter, handheld microphone, plug-on transmitter, portable receiver and tuner unit — are housed in compact, lightweight metal chasses, allowing them to withstand the harsh field environments.
The UWP-V1, UWP-V2 and UWP-V6 are designed for use with Sony professional camcorders, specifically the new XDCAM EX and HDV models for ENG and EFP. The UWP-X7 and UWP-X8 are well-suited for PA applications and include a transmitter and a tuner module that can be installed into the Sony SRP-X500P, SRP-X700P A/V mixer or MB-X6 tuner base unit.
