TVI adds to Kahuna collection for news, entertainment programming

Portuguese broadcaster TVI has expanded its installation of Snell Kahuna multiformat SD/HD production switchers.
The Kahuna systems support the company's new production studio for entertainment programming and have allowed TVI to launch the TVI24 24-hour news channel. In both news and entertainment production at TVI, the Kahuna's FormatFusion technology provides flexibility in handling SD and HD sources and supports work in a mixed-format environment.
At TVI's Lisbon facility, an existing entertainment studio and Kahuna switcher have been reallocated for TVI24 news production, a second Kahuna remains in use for news programming, and a new Kahuna system is being used in a new studio dedicated to TVI's entertainment channel.
