BeTV adds EVS gear for new soccer contract

EVS XT server technology is helping BeTV prepare and take to air highlights during the 15-minute breaks during UEFA Champions League action.

BeTV, a Belgian pay TV channel, offers three live matches per evening, twice a week. All of these are included in a live broadcast by the sports editorial team, with summaries and analysis of the other games. During the breaks, summaries of the other five matches in addition to the local live game are broadcast.

As video clips are created by the operators, the EVS XT server allows these clips to be assembled. By the end of the first half of the game, EVS operators are ready to deliver eight sets of highlights.

To handle the UEFA work, BeTV ordered six XT[2] production and playout servers in Multicam mode.

BeTV also ordered two XStore storage and gateway platforms, two IP Directors and one CleanEdit NLE workstation.
