CNBC has chosen ILC's MaxView network control software to improve the delivery of live reports to its nationwide audience.
At its new all-digital facility in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, CNBC will use MaxView to schedule, adjust, and route inbound and outbound programming taped outside the studio.
When CNBC broadcasts live from the floor of the stock exchange, its technicians will now be spared the time-consuming manual tasks they previously performed to collect the satellite feed, clean up picture quality and release the feed for distribution.
CNBC will use MaxView to automate this process through remote control of satellite and studio equipment from its new satellite operations control center in New Jersey. The network will also use MaxView to standardize operations procedures. Customized user screens and automated processes - created in MaxView without custom programming - will guide CNBC operators through routine and complicated tasks, minimizing operator error.
Using MaxView's drag-and-drop tools, operators can create macros in the system that will schedule and automatically perform daily repetitive tasks, such as routing live feeds.
Initially, MaxView will control a variety of equipment, including antenna dishes and controllers, satellite receivers, IRDs, frame synchronizers, and the satellite operation center’s monitor wall.
