Fast Forward Video Xi deck offers replacement for tape-based recorder

The new Xi Deck provides intuitive control via front-panel touch screen.

Fast Forward Video has released the Xi deck, its new multiuse DVR that can serve as a replacement for analog tape decks in broadcast and film production applications.

With its intuitive controls and wide array of options, the Xi is designed to deliver high-quality digital recording and intuitive control via front-panel touch screen that provides access to record and playback settings. The Xi deck provides broadcast-quality digital video in either single- or dual-channel configurations.

A variety of features can be custom ordered, including:

  • Fixed or hot-swappable SATA drives;
  • Serial digital interface (SDI) I/O;
  • Video LCD with adjustable viewing angle;
  • Component I/O;
  • SMPTE/EBU time code;
  • Full variable speed playback controls;
  • Time lapse recording;
  • USB 2.0 port;
  • Dual redundant PSU.
