FX Group unveils Shot By Shot Planner software

FX Group has launched a Web-based application that allows stations to create custom storyboards that preview the shots used on their news sets.

FX's Shot By Shot Planner features a drag-and-drop interface crews can use to plan how to use available shots on their new FX sets.

The system also allows users to save multiple storyboards so each program or newscast has a unique shot lineup. Storyboards can be modified by dragging thumbnails to a new location and previewed in an automatic slide show playback.

The Web-based nature of the applications allows those in multiple locations to access storyboards from the Internet. Users can also print storyboards for easy offline reference.
