German broadcaster Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR) will install Dalet newsroom technology for both its radio and television news production.
Working with the prime contractor SGI, Dalet will be at the core of the SR radio and television newsroom. More than 300 staff members will be equipped with Dalet newsroom computer technology to create stories, manage the rundown and archive material.
For the SR project, Dalet's newsroom technology will integrate with third-party components from Silicon Graphics (SGI), SGT and Pinnacle Systems, which was recently acquired by Avid Technology. The solution will provide SR with an end-to-end workflow for both television and radio news production and playout. It will greatly enhance SR's overall operational efficiency while simultaneously reducing costs.
