Kuwait Television to begin HD production of sports, events with new vehicle



Built by U.K. coachbuilders A Smith Gt Bentley, the vehicle, is 44ft long and has one side capable of expanding to give the truck an overall width of 12.5ft.

Megahertz Broadcast Systems has completed the design and integration of a new HD outside broadcast vehicle for Kuwait Television (KTV), making this the first HD OB in the Middle East.

Built by U.K. coachbuilders A Smith Gt Bentley, the vehicle, is 44ft long and has one side capable of expanding to give the truck an overall width of 12.5ft. The equipment list includes seven Sony HDC-950 HD cameras that work over fiber, 64x64 SD and 64x64 HD Sony routers, a Sony MVS-8000A SD/HD video switcher and a Studer Vista 7 audio desk.

Megahertz worked closely with its Kuwait-based partner EEMC on the project. According to KTV, the vehicle will be used for coverage of sports and national events.
