OmniTek adds 708 caption monitoring package

OmniTek has unveiled a new decoding package for CEA-708-B closed caption data services that will be available as an option for the OmniTek XR, TQ and LAB waveform monitors.

The new option provides broadcasters with a comprehensive analysis of the content and legality of 708 data embedded in serial digital video streams.

The 708 decoder software is the latest addition to the range of monitoring and analysis functions provided by OmniTek equipment. CEA-608-B line 21 caption decode is already fully supported, as well as decoding of World System Teletext caption data.
