Panasonic begins shipment of AJ-SDC905 ENG camcorder

Panasonic has begun deliveries of its AJ-SDC905, the company’s first dual-mode DVCPRO50 camcorder that combines 2/3in. three-CCDs, 12-bit DSP and an IEEE 1394 input/output to expedite 50Mb/s of nonlinear editing.

Well-suited for NTSC-compatible electronic newsgathering and video production, the AJ-SDC905 offers EFP-quality 4:2:2 sampled DVCPRO50 or 4:1:1 sampled DVCPRO recording, at native 16:9 wide-screen or 4:3 aspect ratios.

The camera’s three CCDs offer 520,000-pixel, 16:9 native pickup to produce 750 lines of resolution, a high sensitivity of F13 at 2000 lux and low-light shooting down to 0.01 lux (at +68dB).
