The Post-Newsweek Stations group has contracted Miranda to supply a centralized news graphics system using its Xmedia Suite template-based graphics workflow tools.
The Post-Newsweek Stations station group has contracted Miranda Technologies to supply a centralized news graphics system using the Xmedia Suite template-based graphic workflow tools.
The Xmedia Suite system will support on-screen news graphics over multiple platforms, 24/7, via central hub for the station group’s six TV stations, including KPRC in Houston, WDIV in Detroit, WPLG in Miami, WKMG in Orlando, FL, KSAT in San Antonio, TX, and in WJXT in Jacksonville, FL. Post-Newsweek also will rely on Miranda for channel branding equipment.
The availability of workflow tools, such as work order management, graphics processing, central and local storage, asset management in HD and SD with multiple formats and unique station branding, were important factors in selecting Miranda, said Marcus Williams, VP of Post-Newsweek Stations and chief engineer at WDIV.
Using the Xmedia Suite's MOS-compliant ENPS and iNews plug-in software, news producers and journalists at Post-Newsweek Stations have immediate access to graphical elements and templates to create lower-thirds, over-the-shoulder graphic images with integrated moving backgrounds and full-screen builds with animated highlights directly from their newsroom control system desktop.
Graphical elements will be produced and loaded onto a Miranda Xmedia Server at the system's core, as well as onto backup satellite servers at each local station. This will allow all graphical assets to be ingested once, centrally archived and automatically moved to a range of graphic devices.
