Ross Video unveils SoftMetal version 2.0

Ross Video released version 2.0 of its SoftMetal video servers, which includes a new application for easy clip viewing and sorting, at NAB2008.

Besides the new Media Manager application for viewing and sorting, the latest version offers the Transcode Manager application for transcoding files, various user interface and system enhancements and support for Apple Final Cut Pro, QuickTime animation and Avid workflows.

SoftMetal is a line of multidefinition video servers designed for both production and master control applications. They are available in 36 different configurations, which include 18 SD and 18 multidefinition models.
