The Sachtler SooM HDV/mini DV camera support can be configured in four distinct ways to cover a wide range of shooting requirements.

Sachtler has unveiled SooM, a multifunction camera support system for Mini DV to HDV camcorders.

Sachtler’s SooM configures into four distinct support tools in one compact, easy-to-carry system. They include:

  • SooM tripod with a 75mm bowl, featuring single-stage legs offering a vertical height range from 27in to 56in;
  • HiPod using an integrated SooM Tube center column that can telescope to more than 8ft;
  • A low tripod using SooM’s TriSpread midlevel spreader with its own 75mm bowl that covers a range from 8in to 19in;
  • A monopod using the center column SooM Tube, which can be removed from the tripod and supports a height range from 34in to 62in.
