Sennheiser unveils small, light SK 5212 transmitter

Sennheiser has introduced the SK 5212 wireless microphone body-pack transmitter, which is smaller, lighter and more user-friendly than its SK 5012 predecessor.

The SK 5212 offers a number of advanced features, including infrared wireless synchronization with the company's new NET 1 Network System multichannel wireless hub. It can also be used with all of Sennheiser's 3000 and 5000 series components. A sturdy metal housing protects the mini transmitter from the harsh conditions of TV use.

A switching bandwidth of 36MHz is selectable in the entire UHF range from 450MHz to 960MHz, and the transmitter frequency can be set in 5kHz steps. A single AA battery ensures that the SK 5212 works reliably for six hours at its full 50mW output power. The transmitter power can be reduced to 10mW to adapt to the transmission conditions of different regions.
