Spanish Antena 3 is the first European broadcaster to install the Chyron WAPSTR mobile phone application.
Since mid-December, the Spanish television network and media company has invited viewers of its new morning magazine show, “Espejo Público,” to send questions, comments, birthday pictures and video via their mobile phones. These are then displayed in the lower third of the screen throughout the program using WAPSTR, in conjunction with Antena 3’s Chyron CAMIO graphic asset management system and Chyron LEX graphics systems.
WAPSTR allows broadcasters to air viewer-generated breaking news video and snapshots, prompting the viewers to act as citizen journalists. The system ensures that content sent by viewers is quickly made available to journalists and producers for inclusion in the broadcast via Chyron’s graphics systems.
