Televisa turns to EVS for Olympic solutions

Televisa, Mexico's leading broadcaster, expanded its video server infrastructure for the 2004 Summer Olympics with an EVS Broadcast Equipment AirBox-XT and subsequently added two LSM-XT servers.

The installation allowed Televisa to work in a tapeless environment and record up to eight events simultaneously on the servers.

AirBox-XT is a production and playout server with integrated Windows-based nonlinear editing software. It allows users to incorporate clips in playlists with drag-and-drop commands.

The broadcaster installed two LSM-XT servers after the Olympics in two of Televisa's digital remote control units dedicated to coverage of the Mexican soccer championship. Each LSM can offer instant replays from four synchronized cameras in slow motion. Televisa also equipped its high-definition mobile unit with its first HD LSM-XT server.
