Univision 34 rounds out new digital newsroom with DAM

As part of its effort to expand its digital newsroom system, U.S. Spanish-language news channel, Univision 34 KMEX in Los Angeles, is adding a digital archive management system.

Part of the Univision Television Group, the station is adding an SGL/StorageTek archive to its fully equipped Avid Technology-based digital newsroom. An Avid Unity MediaNetwork system forms the heart of the facility. An Avid NewsCutter provides the editing software.

The new digital system allows Univision 34 to store all of its news by sending material from the Avid Unity MediaNetwork via Avid NewsCutter to the SGL archive. Material is then retrieved when required using Avid Unity MediaManager and SGL FlashNet.
