West Virginia Media Group, which owns TV stations in the state’s four largest markets as well as a weekly newspaper, has selected NVERZION turnkey hardware and software automation to fully automate the acquisition, transmission, nearline storage and sharing of content among its family of stations.

The decision follows the successful automation of the group’s WTRF-TV, the CBS affiliate in Wheeling-Steubenville, WV. The station group returned to NVERZION to provide a complete package for its NBC affiliate, WBOY-TV in Clarksburg-Morgantown, as well as expand automation systems at WOWK-TV 13 in Charleston-Huntington and WVNS-TV 59 in Beckley-Bluefield.

The implementation of NVERZION’s XPansion distributive asset management applications along with TeraStore nearline digital storage solutions allows WV Media to share and distribute common national content among all stations using a real-time FTP process.

Among the solutions, WV Media’s suite of applications included NVERZION’s NControl MC standard master control switcher software package, NControl playlist for webcasting, an NConvert traffic interface, and NVERZION’s NFire Pathfire interface.

The tools installed at each of the WV Media locations will dub, segment, edit and schedule broadcast material while managing video servers, VTRs, master control switchers, multiplexers, character generators, cart machines, storage systems, logo inserters, still stores and routers.
