WOAI-TV upgrades news graphics creation, management

WOAI-TV, the NBC affiliate in San Antonio has upgraded its existing iNFiNiT! character generator with a HyperX graphics system driven by Chyron’s Lyric PRO with interFuse Technology; CAMIO newsroom integration and asset management system; and iSQ remote monitoring and playout.

The station broadcasts news, sports, weather, traffic and an hour-long news magazine-style show, “SA Living.” The new Chyron systems, which will go on air later this year, will be based in the live control room.

The CAMIO graphic management architecture will be integrated with WOAI-TV’s Avid iNews newsroom computer system, which will allow journalists to browse templates, edit text and replace images and movie files, preview graphics and insert them into stories from their desktops.

Network producers and reporters will be able to visualize their packages, reducing the workload on WOAI-TV’s graphics operator. iSQ will allow control of independent output channels across multiple devices of MOS-generated playlists, with the ability to play out any message, on any playlist, at any time.
