“World’s largest” HD video screen finds home at Japanese racetrack

Mitsubishi Electric has finished building what’s being described as the world’s largest high definition video screen at a Tokyo horseracing track, according to a report in the Asahi Shimbun.

The screen uses the company’s Aurora Vision LED technology and stands 37ft x 66ft x 218ft — three times the surface area of a tennis court, the paper reported.

The screen, made in 35 pieces, was installed at the Tokyo Racecourse in Fuchu, Tokyo. It cost $28 million, the paper reported.
