Snell & Wilcox's Ukon universal converter
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has selected Snell & Wilcox standards converters to facilitate the company's move toward HD broadcasting.

With its purchase of a Ukon universal converter and upgrade of its Alchemist Platinum Ph.C standards converter to include HD outputs, WWE has started its migration to HD.

A key to Alchemist Platinum Ph.C’s precise standards conversion is its phase correlation motion estimation technology. The converter offers accurate motion measurement with conversions that are virtually transparent. The system is fully upgradeable, allowing customers like WWE to purchase the Alchemist Platinum Ph.C for SD conversion and easily adapt it to accommodate HD feeds at a later date.
