Far from being a threat to linear television viewing, video delivered over-the-top to second-screen devices may in fact be a boon to traditional appointment television, according to new research.
The study, conducted by Ovum and commissioned by Avid, examines how a symbiotic relationship appears to be developing between linear TV and OTT video delivery.
In this, the second of a two-part podcast interview, Adrian Drury of Ovum and William Sean Ford of Avid conclude their discussion of the new research.
Two notes to listeners: Part I of this interview is available on the Broadcast Engineering website, and the first person to respond to my first question in Part II of this interview is William Sean Ford.
