Broadcasters looking to leverage the potential of second-screen viewing as a complement to their main presentation — particularly sports coverage — have a new service at their disposal.
That service, called IVE, provides a first-person viewing experience that gives viewers with iOS or Android second-screen tablets and smartphones access to one or several multilensed, multi-imager HD cameras that put them closer than ever to the action.
What that means to viewers is the ability to turn their iPads 360 degrees and take in the entire view of what’s happening around that camera.
According to Pablo Goldstein, CEO of Unified Video Technologies, the company responsible for IVE, what sets the system apart from other similar efforts is the ability to give viewers this 360-degree view from a sports venue in real time.
In part one of a two-part podcast interview, Goldstein discusses IVE and the opportunities it presents broadcasters.
