IBC2009 is designating Monday, Sept. 14, as D Cinema Day, and 3-D stereoscopic production and post will play a starring role.
Chairman of the morning program is Phil Streather, CEO of Principal Large Format, a pioneering giant-screen movie production company. What Streather has planned for those who attend the session is a program that will lay out every step of the 3-D process from previsualization to acquisition through editing.
Assisting Streather in the session will be Bernard Mendiburu, a Los Angeles-based CGI stereographer and author of “3D Movie Making: Stereoscopic Digital Cinema, From Script to Screen;” Ken Schafer, president of Innoventive Software, who will look at previsualization; Steve Schklair, CEO of 3ality Digital, who will demo the tools to capture stereo images; and David Newman, CTO of CineForm, who will demonstrate the company's neo3D plug-in for Final Cut Pro.
Streather spoke about where 3-D stands today and what’s planned for the morning session.
