As projector and camera manufacturers utilize different pin assignments for control, there is no single cable available to installers to cover the requirements for all of their projects. As a result, they have to construct the needed cable in the field by soldering on a 9-pin D-Sub connector. To solve this problem, and to save installers time and money, BTX introduces its new projector/camera solderless control cable kit in female and male DB9 configurations.
The kit consists of a 3-foot cable with a male 8-pin, mini-din on one end and a blunt cut on the other; the BTX patent-pending, MaxBlox CD-MX9F (DB9 female to terminal block) or CD-MX9M (DB9 male to terminal block); the CD-MX915H MaxBlox hood; and a specification sheet showing the conductor color code to each pin.
“This new projector/camera control kit continues the BTX tradition of providing installers with cost- and time-saving solutions that simplify life in the field,” said Greg Schwartz, president of BTX. “Without the DB9 attached to the assembly, installers are able to snake the 3-foot control cable through the projector/camera mount or conduit, cut to the proper length, and then simply attach the solderless DB9 with a screwdriver. The snap-on hood provides proper strain relief and a clean, finished look.”
The new solderless control cable kits are available immediately.
